Accessibility Statement
Hira Compounds is independently owned and operated by a single proprietor, and hiracompound.com is built and maintained against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This statement sets out what has been implemented, what still falls short, how the site is reviewed, and how to flag a barrier. Reports sent by email or phone get a response within five business days.

Commitment and scope
This statement covers hiracompound.com in full: the home page, the catalog, individual product pages, the cart and checkout, order status pages, published certificates of analysis, and every policy page linked in the footer.
The target standard is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The site is currently assessed as partially conformant. Most success criteria are met. The ones that are not are listed under Known limitations rather than left unstated.
Hira Compounds is a sole proprietorship, independently owned and operated. Accessibility decisions, fixes and timelines are made by the owner, so a report goes directly to the person who can act on it.
The catalog lists research-use-only reference compounds supplied to qualified researchers and institutions for in-vitro laboratory research. Accessibility work changes how that information is presented, never what it says. Buyers must be 21 or older and are solely responsible for lawful handling.
What has been implemented
The following are in place site-wide and are re-checked whenever a template changes.
- Keyboard navigation: every link, button, filter, quantity control, form field and checkout step is reachable and operable with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space and arrow keys. There are no keyboard traps. A skip link appears on first Tab and jumps past the navigation to the main content.
- Focus visibility: focus indicators are never removed. Each focusable element shows a solid two-pixel outline with a two-pixel offset that clears the required 3:1 contrast against its background. Sticky headers and cookie notices are offset so they do not cover the focused element.
- Semantic landmarks: each page uses header, nav, main and footer landmarks, one h1, and a heading order that never skips a level. Product listings are marked up as lists. Assay tables on certificate pages use real table markup with scoped header cells.
- Color contrast: body text meets or exceeds 4.5:1 against its background. Large text, icons, form borders, focus rings and other non-text interface parts meet or exceed 3:1. Color is never the only way information is conveyed. Stock status, form errors and order status carry text labels as well as color.
- Alt text: every meaningful image carries alternative text that describes what it shows, including vial photography, label close-ups and certificate thumbnails. Purely decorative graphics are marked so screen readers pass over them.
- Forms: every input has a visible, persistent label. Errors are announced, named in plain words, and repeated next to the field they belong to. Required fields are marked in text, not by color alone. Autofill hints are set on name, email, address and phone fields.
- Pointer targets: interactive controls are at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels, with spacing where a target is smaller. Nothing on the site requires dragging, a path-based gesture, or a double tap.
- Consistent structure: navigation, search, the cart control and the contact details sit in the same place on every page, so a screen reader or magnifier user does not have to relearn each page.
- Page metadata: every page has a unique, descriptive title, and the page language is declared so screen readers use the correct pronunciation.
Reduced motion
Animation on this site is decorative. It is never used to carry meaning, and nothing on the site needs motion to be understood.
When a visitor turns on the reduced motion setting in Windows, macOS, iOS or Android, the site reads that preference and honors it. Scroll-triggered reveals, parallax, hover transforms, animated counters, sliding drawers and looping carousels are switched off. Content appears in its final state immediately instead of fading, sliding or scaling in.
Nothing on the site auto-plays for more than five seconds without a control to stop it. No content flashes more than three times per second, so the interface stays within the WCAG flash threshold.
Text scaling, zoom and reflow
Text is sized in relative units, so the site follows the default font size set in the browser or operating system instead of overriding it.
Text can be resized to 200 percent without loss of content or function. At 400 percent browser zoom the layout reflows to a single column and stays readable at a 320 CSS pixel viewport width, with no two-dimensional scrolling.
Line height, letter spacing, word spacing and paragraph spacing can be increased by user stylesheets or reading extensions without clipping text. Containers grow with their content rather than fixing a height in pixels.
Assay tables on certificate pages are the one exception to single-axis scrolling. On very narrow screens they scroll horizontally inside their own region. That region is keyboard focusable and scrollable with arrow keys, and the same values are repeated in the page text above it.
Assistive technologies tested
Manual testing is done on real assistive technology, not only in automated tools. The most recent full manual pass was completed in August 2026 on the combinations below.
- NVDA 2025.2 with Firefox and with Chrome on Windows 11
- JAWS 2025 with Chrome on Windows 11
- VoiceOver with Safari on macOS 15
- VoiceOver with Safari on iOS 18, including rotor navigation by heading and landmark
- TalkBack with Chrome on Android 15
- Keyboard-only operation with no pointing device, on Windows and macOS
- Windows Magnifier and browser zoom at 200 percent and 400 percent
- Windows forced-colors mode (high contrast), checking that borders, focus rings and icons remain visible
- Dictation-based navigation using Voice Control on macOS, checking that every control has a spoken name that matches its visible label
Known limitations
These issues are known and are not yet fixed. Each one has a workaround and a target date. If one of them blocks you, use the contact details below and the information will be supplied another way at no cost.
Third-party content is the largest gap. Certificates of analysis are issued by Janoshik Analytical and are published as received so they can be verified unaltered at janoshik.com/verify. The source PDFs are not tagged for screen readers, and they are not edited, because editing would break verification.
- Certificate PDFs: not tagged, and some values sit inside a scanned image layer. Workaround: the full assay figures for KLOW 80mg and NAD+ 500mg are also written out as plain HTML text on each product page, and the owner will read or email any figure on request. Target: an accessible HTML transcript alongside every certificate by December 2026.
- Verification link: janoshik.com/verify is an external site and its accessibility is outside the control of this site. Workaround: call or email and the verification key and result will be confirmed directly. Verification keys are printed as selectable text, not images.
- Older product photography: a small number of archive label images have short alt text that names the product without describing the label text in full. Target: rewritten alt text on all archive images by December 2026.
- Spam protection on the contact form: the challenge used to block automated submissions can be awkward with some screen readers. Workaround: email and phone both bypass the form entirely and are treated as equally valid ways to reach the owner.
- Order status table: the columns are readable but the sort controls do not yet announce sort direction to screen readers. Workaround: the current sort is stated in text above the table. Target: March 2027.
- Print styles: printed pages currently drop some link destinations. Target: March 2027.
How the site is reviewed
Accessibility is checked on a fixed cycle rather than only after a complaint.
Automated scans with axe-core and Lighthouse run against the home page, a product page, a certificate page, the cart and the checkout at least once per quarter. Automated tools catch a minority of issues, so they are treated as a first pass, not a pass mark.
A manual keyboard and screen reader pass is run before any change to a shared template, before any new page type is published, and before any change to the checkout. New product pages are checked for heading order, alt text and contrast before they go live.
This statement is reviewed at least once a year, and immediately after any structural change to the site. It was last reviewed on September 2, 2026. The next scheduled review is on or before September 1, 2027.
When a barrier is found, it is logged with the page, the assistive technology involved, the WCAG criterion it fails and a target date. Anything that blocks a purchase or blocks access to handling and storage information is treated as urgent and fixed ahead of cosmetic issues.
Report a barrier
If any part of hiracompound.com is hard to use, say so. Reports are read by the owner, and they are the fastest way an issue gets fixed.
Email support@hiracompound.com or call +1 (877) 940-3557, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm ET. Written reports can also be mailed to 3100 Warehime Rd, Manchester, MD 21102, United States.
Every report receives a substantive response within five business days of being received. That response will do one of three things: confirm the issue is fixed, give a target date for the fix, or set out an alternative way to get the same information or complete the same task in the meantime. If the fix will take longer than the target date, an updated date is sent rather than silence.
To make the reply faster and more useful, include what you can of the following. A partial report is still worth sending.
- The web address of the page where the problem happened
- What you were trying to do, and what happened instead
- Your browser and version, and your operating system
- Any assistive technology you were using, and its version
- Whether the problem stops you completely, or only slows you down
Other ways to browse and order
No visitor should have to fight the interface to get information or place an order. If a page does not work for you, everything on it is available another way.
By phone or email during business hours, the owner will describe a product, read out purity figures and the full assay values from a certificate of analysis, confirm a Janoshik verification key, quote current pricing and shipping, and place an order on your behalf.
Orders placed this way work the same as orders placed on the site. The order is created immediately and sits in Processing while payment is arranged. Payment is made by direct bank transfer, and the account details are sent in plain text by email or read out over the phone.
Order confirmations, payment instructions and shipping updates are sent as plain text email as well as HTML, so they stay readable in any mail client or screen reader.
If the response does not resolve it
If the reply you receive does not solve the problem, ask for it to be looked at again. Reply to the same email thread or call +1 (877) 940-3557 and say that you are asking for a second review.
A second review is answered in writing within a further five business days, with a plain explanation of what was found, what will change, and what will not. Where a fix is not possible in the short term, a specific alternative route to the same information or the same purchase is offered instead, at no additional cost and with no extra steps beyond what any other visitor faces.
This statement describes the current state of the site honestly, including where it falls short. It is written for visitors, not for a scoring exercise, and it is updated when the site changes rather than left to age.
Regulatory note
The reference compounds listed on this site are for research use only. They are not drugs, supplements, cosmetics or food. They have not been evaluated by the FDA. They are sold strictly to qualified researchers and institutions for in-vitro laboratory research, and no medical, diagnostic or dosing guidance of any kind is provided.
Accessibility improvements never change what the site is allowed to say. Alternative formats, spoken descriptions and plain-text transcripts carry exactly the same information as the page they replace, with no additions.
